Every other day I either work out or post about a fitness magazine I've read, I have a huge collection I buy them and never read them so this way I'm getting all kinds of ideas for work outs and clearing the clutter?
Went to SUNY Plattsburgh got a degree in History and Political Science still figuring out what I want to be when I grow up.
I'm sure I'll think of eleventy billion things after I post this.

About to move to the Midwest.
I've been on lj in various journals since I was 15 and I have no intention of leaving yet!I'm married, childfree, eat a vegan diet, just took a job as a professor, struggle with anxiety, and watch too much Netflix. I really enjoy most anything Whedon, DS9, TNG, bad reality tv, xfiles, and I'm pretty excited about that new sleepy holly show coming out. Music-wise I like a lot of things but always Kate Bush, dead can dance, sunny day real estate, the anniversary, suede, and the smiths. So all over the place!
My posts are usually day to day what's going on in my life. I treat my lj like a personal journal so lots of honesty. I appreciate the same in my lj friends.

Date: 2013-07-24 12:49 pm (UTC)I'm Donna, 24, living in the UK. I'm doing an archivist apprenticeship at the moment with exams that nobody told me about coming up!
I enjoy knitting and I'm a bit of a bookworm. I have a dog that I've foolishly pampered too much. I like Star Wars a lot. My love life is a shambles, I tend to mock myself about that. My updates are usually about my friends and my daily happenings. I try to keep things interesting since there's only so many times you can tell people what time you had breakfast, isn't there.
I'm really quite active on LJ at the moment. I like getting to know people on my friends list, that doesn't mean commenting on every single thing but there needs to be some regular interaction I think.
Fairly certain I'll think of much more interesting things I could have said here in the middle of the night and get all annoyed with myself. I'm no sales person.

I have a degree in chemistry & I am a chemist at a pharmaceutical company.
I post almost daily from work. I've had this same journal since I was like 17 but got really inactive for awhile & lost friends. I'm back and needing to post just to keep my sanity. Lol
I like friends that post at least once a week and that I can get to know through their entries. I'm a pretty active commenter because I talk way too much.
I am open minded & not judgemental becaus I think it is silly to be so. I'll take friends of all types :)

Date: 2013-07-24 03:48 pm (UTC)I have a kind of crafting ADD. I usually have 4 or 5 projects going at once. I crochet, make jewelry, quilt, cross stitch, embroider and sew. Oh, and make collages.
My musical taste is all over the map. I was a DJ in college, and I've never quite gotten over it. ;)
I am embarrassingly attached to the Food Network. And Project Runway. And Lost Girl. And any show that is hosted by Anthony Bourdain.
I write pretty often, usually about the daily weirdness that happens that comes with living in Chapel Hill.
Honestly, I'm just your average bi poly pagan foodie unemployed barista. Which is what you do with an MS in English. ;)

I could always use some new, active LJ friends!
I am a college librarian who enjoys theatre, reading (my favorite is Neil Gaiman), traveling, cooking/baking, history, museums, photography, music, video games, television (Orange is the New Black, Doctor Who, Fringe, Mad Men, Parks & Rec, anything Joss Whedon does) and film (Disney/Pixar - I also love the Disney parks; Lord of the Rings, the most recent Batman films, Little Shop of Horrors, and my friend and I have been making our way through the AFI Top 100 lists). I try to post a few times a week - usually more in the summer when I'm less busy with work and a little less during the semester.
I post about whatever I happen to be up to in real life - lately it's a lot of figuring out to do with things we get from our CSA, summer theatre festivals, and whatever I can get up to on the weekends (when the weather actually cooperates and I can get outside!). I'd like to consider myself drama free - I rarely do friend cuts and I try to comment when I have something to say.

From:I wear plaid shirts a lot.
Date: 2013-07-24 09:32 pm (UTC)I am:
• queer & genderqueer
• a writer
• a housepartner
• anti-oppression
• fat
• a tea-drinker
• disabled (Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, fibro, & more)
• childfree
• involved in a lot of social justice issues
• a voracious reader
Other interests include cooking, baking, growing my own veggies, camping, gentle yoga, board games, road trips, design (particularly typography), and music (particularly Americana, 90s music, and playing instruments). Also check out my profile page for more info.
Who I'm looking for: I'm not interested in reading journals that are exclusively about your fandoms, TV shows, or your kids (if your journal has some of this, it's fine, but I'll likely scroll past most of it). I usually post several times a week, and I comment regularly on my friends' pages (though certainly not on every post) and am looking for friends with similar habits. No hard feelings if we don't click. [Also insert standard disclaimer about racist/homophobic/transphobic/ableist/etc behavior unweclome on my journal!]

Date: 2013-07-25 12:04 am (UTC)I'm in my early 30s and live in western Massachusetts with my partner of almost 10 years and our cats (currently just two, previously as many as five, which was too many). I'm fat, feminist, a farmer (pigs and cows), a gardener (do you want any basil?), a reader, FB addict, culinary enthusiast, allergic to lots of things (gluten, casein, chicken eggs, peanuts, some tree nuts, lemon, mango, strawberry, the list keeps going ...), uber liberal, into natural living, sustainability, natural birth and childrearing, and enthusiasticly into live music, particularly the Dave Matthews Band. Farming and my MILs current terminal illness are popular topics these days.
I'd be interested in finding new friends who have things in common, but recognize that I have some pretty scattered interests so no worries if we don't have a ton of overlap. I post irregularly - once every couple of weeks, and I appreciate comments so I try to comment on others posts when I see them.

Date: 2013-07-25 03:52 am (UTC)Here's some stuff about me:
- I'm 100% Jersey, but currently living in Austin, TX.
- I've never had a normal grownup job. I've given market research surveys in the mall, been in charge of a pony ride (which also involved llamas and a fairly cranky zebra/donkey hybrid) and sold handcrafted leather boots at renaissance faires around the country, and done some other stuff that I talk about in locked entries but not other people's public comments. ;)
- I'm about to start a "developer bootcamp," where I'll spend 10 weeks learning a few coding languages and pretty much not doing anything else, then come out with a grownup job.
- Angry feminist, but not radical feminist. Sex and sex-work positive.
- I like kids but don't want any. I will have cats again, though. I love cats. My roommate-to-be (we move in a week) has a cat. Her name is Truck.
- My natural hair color is blue. My follicles don't agree, but whatever. Fuck them. (Although lately, I'm rocking some purple tips while I grow everything out to start over.)
- I manage a local punk rock band, composed of my ex boyfriend (we broke up before he started the band, but have remained BFFs) and a few of our buddies.
Mostly, I post (1-3 times a week) about day to day life. Shows the band played, dudes I hook up with, anxiety about "adulting" and my impending life transitions, occasional drinking and/or drug use, how excited I am to have roommates that cook so I don't have to, and whatever else. I'm pretty upbeat in general and a lot of funny shit happens in my life. Or maybe my telling of it later on eljay is the funny part; I've been told by a few people that my LJ is the only reason they still log in here. My actual existence seems sort of mundane to me, but that could be just because I'm used to it.
Given that, I particularly enjoy reading about other people's weird lives. If your personal narrative involves pictures of you and/or your kids getting up to things that others might deem ridiculous, if you like YELL-TALKING, if you often hear from friends that you're funny when you're mad, if you've ever deliberately been homeless or a sex worker, if you have a job that most people don't even know exists, we should be friends.
I read LJ almost every day, and comment whenever I have something to say. The latter is all I ask of my LJ friends. I've had really mixed results with friendzies in the past. I'm looking for people I can connect with by reading and commenting on each other's stuff, i.e. make real friendships. I've made some really great meatspace friends from 11 years of LJ, and would like to keep doing so. I'm not really looking to read fanfic or extreme fandom stuff, reposts of tweets, poetry, and so on (I have quite enjoyed a few peoples' LJ Idol stuff, though).

Date: 2013-07-25 03:53 am (UTC)I'm an attorney, but mostly I loathe law and work in a very touchy-feely area of it. I'm vegan but substantially less interested in telling anyone about it than I was in my younger years.
I'm interested in crafty things (mainly sewing), houses (mainly mid-century), and cooking. I was very gothy in my youth but old age and a professional career have gotten rid of most of that for me.
I'm interested in all sorts of people with all sorts of interests, but I skew pretty lefty, and don't have a ton of interest in things like spiritual awakenings.

Date: 2013-07-25 06:24 am (UTC)I feel like I should probably post a giant disclaimer section: queer, feminist, polyamorous, agnostic with socialist leanings. None of these are really as important as the 'queer and feminist' bit, though I will admit, if you're uncomfortable with polyamory (because it's honestly pretty fuckin' weird), though it's not a huge thing in my journal, it will probably throw you the first time you notice I talk about my girlfriend.
Apart from the above, I don't really have any particular "omg you must believe in X and Y and Z!" rules for friending me. If you poke through the writing I have public and feel like I'd be a good addition to your friends list, go ahead and add me!

Date: 2013-07-25 11:19 am (UTC)I am from New Jersey but am 2 weeks away from relocating for North Carolina for a teaching job! Generally, I post 3-4 times a week, and prefer people who do the same. I comment when I see fit, and tend to ask for advice in my LJ, so it'd be great if you read and commented also.
Other things about me - I LOVE to read, love Zombies, LOVE LOVE LOVE baseball (I'm a Phillies fan).
I'm very open-minded and political, but keep that to a minimum in my Live Journal.
Favorites: The Walking Dead, Doctor Who, John Steinbeck, Phillies, J.K. Rowling, Game of Thrones, Lost, Scrubs, The Office, Kate Winslet, Tom Hanks.

Date: 2013-07-26 03:45 am (UTC)I've been on LJ for years, have had this journal for about 8 years but had others in the past.
Some things I like: Video games, movies, art, history, exercise, music..
Movies: I love horror/scary movies the most, love the classics, like the original Amityville horror, psycho, the shinning, Friday the 13th, but I also like other kinds of movies like the Labyrinth, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the rings, Hobbit, and the list goes on.
TV: I don't really watch a lot of TV, but there are a select few shows I'll try to watch whenever I can.. like The Big Bang Theory, Bones, Criminal Minds, and Mythbusters.
Reading: I read a lot of sci fi, and fantasy. Though my all time favourite writer is Kathy Reichs, the mastermind behind the Bones series.
Music: This can change depending on my mood. I grew up on country and love the stuff, but I have my rock days, my classical days, and my wtf are you listening to days!
You can check out my profile for other interests. Though I am pretty laid back and tend to get along with most people.
Fell free to add me, I try to update daily and am always checking and commenting on my f-list :)

Date: 2013-07-26 04:02 am (UTC)I'm currently working as an assistant teacher at a school for children with learning disabilities - I work with 9th and 11th graders which is a big change for me because I'm used to working with the younger ones. During the year I also teach Hebrew/Sunday school. I talk a lot about my job search because I hate my full time job - love the kids but my administration sucks. I'm also working on my M.Ed in Special Education as I want to get into educational testing and IEP coordinating!
Sports: I <3333 the Capitals, Flyers, Redskins, and Ravens <3 I love talking hockey!
TV: Futurama, Big Bang Theory, Friends, New Girl, Community, How I Met Your Mother and my fiance just introduced me to Cheers so we're watching it from the beginning.
Music: I like anything upbeat and dance type. I also love music in other languages especially Hebrew and Greek.
Reading: I read a lot of romance novels!
Feel free to add - looking forward to getting to know new people and make friends!

Date: 2013-07-26 04:54 am (UTC)I've been on LJ for a good number of years.
People comment when they want. SPAM ME with anything. It's all good. I read all the time. Just because I don't comment doesn't mean I don't care. I do. I just don't know what to say at times.
If people are looking for people who need to reply to stay active, don't add me. I never do friends cuts. When people take me off, I never ask why.
While I prefer that you're 21+, if you're between 18-20, that's fine.
VIDEO GAMES = LIFE. Onimusha is my main jam. ♥
Anything and everything Takeshi Kaneshiro tops my list of watch to watch/listen to/play with (Onimusha)/everything. He is my LJ theme. ♥
I suffer from the following mental illnesses: GAD, OCD, BDD, SAD (my season is summer), depression and paranoia.
Other things I suffer from: asthma and PCOS.
I love history and language learning.
I'm in the process of taking a photography course, starting within the next couple of months.
I read (rarely Sy-Fy and first person. I'm more into history and historical romances, the Middle Ages and Renaissance are the two big ones I read the most of when it comes to historical romances, but nearly any I will read) and write.
I'm a crazy cat lady through and through. I had to recently put down my 14 year old cat, Osiris, as of last month, due to her having late stage cancer and progressive kidney failure. It was hard, but I figure putting her to sleep right away instead of having it become worse was the best course of action. I'm in the process of getting a new cat.
Sports wise, not much into the professional kind, but I watch (North American) football to help me cope with all the shit that's going on inside my head. It's a form of therapy for me. I LOVE THE OLYMPICS!! I also watch varsity football (FIGHTING IRISH!!)
Music? I will listen to nearly every genre.
Movies? I will watch any genre.
As for TV, I don't watch much, contrary to popular belief. I watch Mythbusters, The Simpsons, Futurama, How It's Made, various historical eras, The Amazing World Of Gumball, just to name a few. I watch a LOT of anime (via DVD and Netflix for the most part. I watch Crunchyroll, too).
I'm going to make more of an effort to post more. People have been posting more on Twitter, FB, and Tumblr these past few years.
I'm not too hip on internet lingo, so I apologise in advance for having to decipher what a lot of people have to say.
More info is in my profile and my friends only LJ entry. I make fun of a lot, poke fun of a lot, what I'm into, what you're into, so if you're easily butthurt, do not add me.
Remember: what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, and in no way will I share anything from your friends only entries with anyone else unless you give permission.
Be excellent with everyone and all will be well.

Date: 2013-07-26 05:06 am (UTC)I play FINAL FANTASY 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6... also DRAGON QUEST 1-6, and the MOTHER series. Occasionally, I'll play LUFIA. I like the classic video games, as you can tell.
I'm a bit interested in twins (and other multiples; triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets, sextuplets, etc.), babies and kids (I like them to a certain extent, but am a long way from having them right at the moment), reading, humor, true crime, comics.. the list could go on and on.
What I do for fun: reading, going to bookstores and the library, hanging out with friends, eating out with them, keeping in touch with people, listening to music, going to my friends' houses, looking after little kids, sometimes going places by myself, parties at friends' houses, etc.
Foods I like: some Chinese food (hot and sour soup, noodles, curry, wonton soup, etc.), pizza, pasta, chicken, sushi, turkey, Pho noodles, steak, etc.
Music I like: classic rock, some current rock, some pop (no BSB-type stuff for me)... that's about it, though I can stand most other types... even my brother's weird mix tapes of Monster Magnet, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, and Mercury Rev. Some other groups I like include (but are not limited to): Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Everclear, Matthew Good Band, Our Lady Peace, Led Zeppelin, New Order, the Doors, Big Sugar, Creed, Nickelback, Collective Soul, the Police, etc.
Stuff I like to read: humorous stuff, some (auto-)biographies, Guinness World Records (http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com) stuff (that Primetime TV show is cool), the Outlander series (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/series/-/193/mass_market/ref=pd_serl_books/103-1257418-6568623), Bathroom Readers (http://www.unclejohn.com), true crime, trivia, some fiction (and some non-fiction as well), comic strips, stuff about music... guess it all depends on what I feel like reading!

Date: 2013-07-26 08:47 am (UTC)i am an artist- i am a metal smith/jeweler, i paint, draw, and am finally learning how to use photoshop after learning to use the first version way back when in art school. that should date me. i also knit and spin, i even process my own fleeces. i have four spinning wheels and hope to make it six at some point soon. i am approaching stash exceeding life expectation, and still buy more yarn and fiber because well, shiny! i have a major love for red lipstick, i collect makeup, shoes, and am finally dealing with purging my closet of all clothes that no longer fit me(most everything).
i love reading. if i don't have a book going i feel at loose ends. i love mysteries and suspense, have a new found love of alternate reality/sci fi/fantasy, and give me a good zombie or vampire series, well, i might not show up on lj until i have read all of the series available.
music. oh boy. i listen to just about anything, but the only knowledge i have of popular music is through my daughter. all four of us have our ipods/phones glued to us at all times so we have our music.
we are big believers in letting our kids do their own thing. our son is autistic but very high functioning. if either kid wanted to shave their heads or dye their hair blue, we'd have no issue with that. then again, i have naturally fire engine red hair, and have rarely had hair colors not found in a crayon box.
i do suffer from chronic pain, and am disabled from it. i tend to talk about that a bit. i also have three dogs- a deaf boxer, a pit bull, and a mastiff am staff cross. please do not friend me if you believe pit bulls are evil dogs. i have little tolerance for any form of -ism. i also have parrots, and we are starting our search for a third.
i read my flist daily, but tend to suck at updating as much as i would like. i am trying to get better! add me if you'd like and i will add you back and try to post at least something daily.

Date: 2013-07-26 01:24 pm (UTC)Yeah, my family's a little unusual. I talk about us a lot. We just made it through a very trying year, with one of our number experiencing a severe health crisis just after having our household's fifth child. Luckily everyone seems to be on the mend now.
I'm a writer, musician, songwriter, shameless movie geek, and occasionally I dress in medieval garb for fun.
I'm also a slightly disillusioned member of the mainstream media, and I'm going back to school in the fall to learn interactive media. (I have no idea what that is, but it sounds like fun. That should tell you something about how I tend to navigate my life.)

I love playing with my son, spending time with my boyfriend, hockey, movies, music, Disney, reading, the beach, hoodies, and tons of other silly things.
I have 3 older brothers, 1 niece, and 5 nephews. I love them all, although, at times they drive me bat shit crazy.
I have a potty mouth.
I'm shy and quiet when you first meet me.
I post about my day, whats going on in my life, my family, pictures, the occasional meme and whatever else I feel like sharing. I read everything on my friends page, but only comment when I have something to say.
My journal is friends only. If you'd like to add me please comment here or on my friends only post. :)

Date: 2013-07-26 05:27 pm (UTC)I've been on Livejournal...oh wow. I can't even remember. Maybe 11 years? I used to post a lot, but it's been once in awhile lately, just because school is out for the summer, so I'm apparently entertainment director (when did I sign up for that?!) and working on my house. I don't know if you can just develop OCD, but I can't deal with the clutter in my house. I'm trying to simplify everything. And I'm the only one in my house who does anything (we live with my dad...and he's a packrat). The clutter = chaos to me...which causes stress and anxiety. Wow, I'm sounding like a basket case already! I swear I'm not ;) But yeah, I'm getting back into writing more, updating on my oh so interesting life.
I started running the beginning of last year. I went from barely being able to walk a mile in 2011 to finishing my first 8k in March of last year to finishing my first half marathon not even 6 months after my first race...so yeah, you could say running became a big passion for me. I have gotten off track the past few months, but I'm trying to light a fire under my ass and get going again. Don't take me running a half marathon for me being in shape. I am NOT. That's the goal, though. I have a long way to go, but I've also come a long way already, too. As of right now, I have 85 lbs I'd like to lose. So I talk about weight loss and running and fitness and all that good stuff, too.
As far as music goes, I love almost all of it! From rock to pop to country to classical. Rock is definitely my favorite, though. Sevendust is my favorite band.
I don't watch a lot of tv, but I do have my shows I like to watch. Big Bang Theory, King of Queens, American Horror Story, Scandal. I'm trying to get into these shows everyone talks about, like The Walking Dead, but I have to watch them from the very beginning and honestly, my ADHD doesn't allow me to sit still for that long to watch all those episodes!
I love to read. That's probably my favorite thing. I'm a dork, I know. I read almost everything, as well. I've recently stumbled upon books by Elin Hilderbrand. I read "Barefoot" and just fell in love with the style of writing and just the feel of the book, so now I'm trying to read ALL of her books. One of my favorite books is "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. And yes...it WILL change your life. ;)
I'm trying to get into scrapbooking, but finding the patience for it has been a battle. I'm trying to live a calm, more peaceful life (think ZEN) but when you google "finding inner peace" you just get a bunch of crap...lol

Date: 2013-07-26 06:30 pm (UTC)I usually write about my day to day.
I finished my grad degree on PsyEd almost a year ago and I work as a teacher for HS students with special needs (blind, deaf, motor or intellectual dispaired). I'm currently on maternity leave and I should be back at work by September 1st.
