Date: 2013-07-24 12:09 am (UTC)I'm a big anime and Japanese pop culture geek - music, street fashion, etc. I like pop culture in general though, and you can find a handy dandy list of general books and TV shows and such that I'm into on my profile page.
I read my f-list daily and tend to post once a week or so. I write about anime, work, personal life, my general traversings, and post the occasional meme. Right now I'm just looking for friends with similar interests who won't be abandoning LJ for greener blogging pastures.

Date: 2013-07-24 12:15 am (UTC)I am a full time worker-b for the LA public library system. I like to read a good book once in awhile, but usually am spending my free time writing screenplays, of which scenes are scanned and posted on my lj blog. I'm looking for mutual writers who might be interested in making script posting a fad. I'm open to suggestions, but basically what my objective is in typing my blog entries on a vintage typewriter, then scanning is to create a community of tv/film words to get in touch with grass roots screenwriting.
A little late to the party, but better late than never.
Date: 2013-07-24 12:24 am (UTC)I am married, a parent to a 3 year old girl, and a companion to two cats and two Russian tortoises. We are trying for baby #2, but things have been complicated. I consider myself a progressive liberal, although I try to keep politics out of lj posts. Not a fan of racism, sexism, or homophobia.
Hobbies include gaming, writing, cooking/baking and photography. I love to travel too. I am currently participating in
Nice to meet you.
I have been on LJ since early 2003.

Date: 2013-07-24 01:28 am (UTC)I post a lot about my journey from fat to Physique, body acceptance, body building, and living with multiple (and sometimes debilitating) food allergies. I have a special filter for my queerventures, for those that are not into that kind of scene. I occasionally foray into gender and my struggles with it. I toss in a photo in almost every post, for no particular reason. Lately, a lot of selfies and progress pics.
I feel like for the size of a friend's list I have, my page is always so desolate. When more people post on my friend's list, I'm always encouraged to do the same! My journal is 100% friend's only, but I'm always open to add people!

Date: 2013-07-24 01:52 am (UTC)Mentally ill, but under control with medication and a rockin' awesome counselour. I do write about that, because that's the one thing I've been working the hardest at in my life and finally feel like I'm getting somewhere.
Furmom to a 2 year old Dachshund named Emily and a 1 year old Maine Coon named Patrick.

From Idaho, residing in Ohio. Bounced around a lot over the years, and hope to move back to Missouri one day. I loved it down there. . . .
My hobbies are playing with Emily and Patrick, taking Emily for long walks, blogging, reading, music, crochet (been working on an afghan since just after my birthday ha ha), experimenting with cooking
I love to laugh
I believe in being blunt and straightforward, I don't like people having to question where they stand with me.
Only looking for friends over 18, who write actual blogs (sorry, not interested in having my feed flooded with fandom stuff), people who have a decent command of the English language and proper grammar and spelling, and people who don't TyPe LiKe ThIs.
I listen to all sorts of music except bluegrass.
Must be a fairly active member of LJ.
I'm easy to get along with. Just introduce yourself and how you found me if you choose to add me, and I'll happily add you back. I won't be offended if you add me and then decide down the road a bit that you don't really think we're a good match-up. :) No big deal. :) It happens.
Been through a lot in my few 37 years, but I've learned to rebuild. Had to learn how to completely rebuild in 2011, and still working through that mess. I'm working on forgiving the person involved with that, but it's going to take some time.
I do sometimes post photos, but promise to put them and long posts behind a cut so you're not faced with the never-ending-posts-from-hell. I do swear on my blog, but try to keep the swears to a scant minimum when commenting.

Date: 2013-07-24 02:12 am (UTC)I've been kind of bad with my LJ lately, not keeping up with the friends I have, but you guys seem so interesting, I felt like I had to jump in too :D
I'm Bec, or Rebecca (I've become quite used to my whole name, so either one is fine), and I'm 37, living with my partner of 16 years, Adam. We share a house with our four children, aged 6, 4, 2 and 11 months, and we have a dog, three cats, and a chook. Right now we live in Perth, Western Australia, but are currently trying to buy a house in a small city on the south coast. We put an offer in on a place there yesterday and I'm being all nonchalant and dismissive in real life but OH MY GOD I WANT IT SO BAD IT'S PERFECT FOR US PLEASE LET US HAVE IT.
*ahem*
In my previous life, I spent 10 years at university studying German, Philosophy and then falling into a teaching degree. I really love teaching. I hope to go back to it when the youngest child starts school fulltime. I teach high school students and despite what everyone says about teenagers being awful, I quite like them. So far, they've not thrown any chairs at me, so I guess they like me too!
While I'm at home, I'm trying to keep some semblance of self and sanity by writing a regular blog called path:ethic and also doing
I don't tend to post much about politics, but you should know I'm fairly left, even by Australian standards. I think it's important to always question your own opinions and prejudices, though, and I'm open to different points of view, and I'm always polite :) I am not religious, but I will absolutely respect (and discuss) your relationship with G/god if you have one.
Right now I'm not so good at commenting (see above where I talk about moving -- we need to sell the place we're in, too) but I try to post a couple of times a week and I try my best to get back to you if you comment on my posts! I don't mind where you're from or what you do, as long as you're friendly to me and others who like to visit my journal. My journal is probably about 70% public, so feel free to check it out, and my intro is here
http://ecosopher.livejournal.com/146879.html
although it probably just repeats what I've already written in this comment. What can I say? I like to make work for myself!
